The Department of Otorhinolaryngology at our institution stands as a cornerstone of clinical precision and academic rigor. In an era where specialized healthcare is rapidly advancing, we are dedicated to blending cutting-edge surgical expertise with a deeply rooted commitment to patient-centred care.

We are currently navigating a transformative period in medical technology. Our department is actively embracing this shift by moving beyond traditional rote learning toward Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME). This ensures our residents and students are not just observers but active participants in high-fidelity clinical settings.

• Active Clinical Learning: Faculty mentorship focused on improving diagnostic skills and surgical hand-eye coordination.
• Technological Integration: Use of modern endoscopic and microscopic techniques to bridge classroom theory with operating theatre practice.
• Holistic Patient Care: Providing comprehensive ENT services to the community with dedication and compassion.

Patient and Emergency Care Initiatives

• Emergency treatment for ENT complaints such as RTA, foreign body nose, foreign body coin, epistaxis, and laryngotracheal trauma.
• If immediate surgery is required, patients are admitted and transferred to the Operation Theatre for surgical management.

Significant Achievements

• UG and PG teaching as per NMC curriculum.
• Strengthening manpower for OPD and IPD services.
• Increase in number of patients in OPD / IPD / OT cases.
• Major surgeries performed including Tympanoplasty, MRM, Ossiculoplasty, Thyroidectomy, Parotidectomy, Rhinoplasty, Mini FESS, Endoscopic Septoplasty, Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy and MLS.
• MS ENT postgraduate course started in 2024 with two PG batches currently working in the department.
• Three research studies are being conducted in addition to thesis work.
