The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a centre of excellence dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and compassionate healthcare to women. The department plays a vital role in ensuring safe motherhood, improving maternal and perinatal outcomes, and promoting reproductive health in the region. With dedicated faculty, skilled residents, and well-equipped clinical facilities, the department maintains high standards of patient care, medical education, and research.

The Postgraduate (MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology) course has also been started in the department. At present, two batches are running, each comprising 5 residents, thereby strengthening academic activities, clinical services, and research work.

• Comprehensive antenatal care and management of normal and high-risk pregnancies
• Conduct of normal vaginal deliveries, instrumental deliveries, and emergency/elective caesarean sections
• Management of obstetric emergencies including postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, antepartum haemorrhage, and ectopic pregnancy
• Major obstetric and gynaecological surgeries including hysterectomy and emergency laparotomy
• Management of gynaecological disorders such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, and abnormal uterine bleeding
• Family planning services including counselling and sterilization procedures
• Comprehensive postnatal care and maternal health monitoring

• Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as per NMC curriculum
• Regular seminars, case presentations, and clinical discussions
• Hands-on surgical and clinical training under faculty supervision
• Active participation in research and postgraduate thesis work
