Department of Psychiatry

Dr Vipul Singh

Message from the Head of the Department -

Prof (Dr.) Vipul Singh,
Professor & Head – Department of Psychiatry

It gives me immense pleasure to present the Department of Psychiatry, which is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care through evidence-based clinical practice, academic excellence, and community outreach. Our department strives to deliver compassionate and holistic care to individuals suffering from a wide spectrum of psychiatric disorders.

Equipped with modern facilities such as a 32-channel EEG system and rTMS therapy, we aim to integrate advances in neurobiological research with patient-centered treatment approaches. Our services include both outpatient and inpatient care, ensuring continuity of treatment and effective management of psychiatric illnesses.

Beyond clinical care, the department remains actively engaged in promoting mental health awareness through educational activities, academic programs, and public outreach initiatives. Observances such as World Mental Health Day, Suicide Prevention Day, and Dementia Day provide opportunities to engage students, healthcare professionals, and the community in meaningful dialogue about mental health.

Our team remains committed to advancing psychiatric education, fostering research, and strengthening mental health services for the benefit of society. We believe that through knowledge, empathy, and collaboration, we can continue to improve the quality of mental health care and contribute to a healthier and more compassionate community.
